It's would HAVE, people. Have. H.A.V.E!! Not would of.
It might sound similar; I'll give you a phonetical pass there...but no, just no.

Moving on to further adventures!
Another Monday. Same headache. What is it now? Day 6, 7, 8? I don't know any longer.
Thankfully it's not that blistering today. I might get something done.
Hope you're all well.

After reading Minty's post and Meera's reply to it I started thinking, again, about this whole "write what you know" thing.
I'm in a Creative Writing class. I applied to it cause that's what people told me I needed if I wanted to write. I couldn't just sit down and ...make things up without knowing the PROPER way to do it, they told me. Insecure as I was, I believed them.
Imagine my surprise when my teacher starts out the course with saying he can't really teach me anything, this is really a group of support, somewhere to have people who takes the tame and read your stuff and say what they think. We also have themes and try out new stuff. It's the best group ever.
However, when we have seminars and read writing literature..it always comes back to that same old "write what you know! stuff. We even had someone tell us that if we didn't write about our lives and childhoods we would get nowhere. And, of course *eye roll*, there was no better way to do that than poetry. Deep and artistic poetry. For a while when people asked me what I like to write, I cringed. Humorous Sci-Fi? Not very deep :P
But then, after a few (albeit quite good) attempts to write about me and all that stuff. Write down the bones, girl! I said, sod it.
Who the heck wants to read about my life?
And really, don't most of us write cause we want to make up things? Make things better? See new worlds? Create characters?
Characters that pop up in my head in the middle of the night and demand being written about.
So to all of you old school "Write what you know" folks in sweaty synthetic sandals:
I am writing what I know. I'm funny, I've seen these incredible places (in my head), I've been a gnome (in a daydream) and guess what? All that dark sarcastic humour you see? That's how I survived that childhood you wanted me to write about. I know how to do that.
I write because I want to learn more, know more, see more and be more. Sticking to just what I know, according to your definition, would make me a bitter old poet/novelist/creative writing teacher who's never been published locked up in my room with the rest of you talking about the unfairness of the business who can't understand real literature.
That was all.
I'm Katti. I write humorous Sci-Fi in which I throw in gnomes and fairies too. So shoot me. :)

Got new, not falling apart, scriptures!! Wohooo.
Trying to find the same kind of colouring pencils I used to mark in my old ones, but it seems they're outdated :(
But still, woohoooo! I'm so excited about this.

Working, vacationing, writing, going to the temple, playing, visiting, travelling and some more work.
That's about it.

Booyah!
I just got confirmation I got the job I've been applying for and testing for. It's nothing fancy, nothing full time, but I got it. I tested and passed and it's perfect for us since I can work from home.
Oh, and I made a skirt for Smilla today and set up a budget.
Can anyone say momentum?
I GOT THE JOB!! *happy dance*
That also means that from next week I'll be the proud and very inexperienced owner of my very new and shiny personal business.
Yikes.

I thought you'd get a kick out of these.
I'm trying to learn how to crochet so I'll have something to do while watching all the series I want to watch. Have a real hard time sitting still in front of the TV, just watching. Feels....unproductive!
Anyway, so, I want to learn how to crochet cause I need to jump on the Amigurumi wagon. They're so frikkin' cute!
If you don't know what I'm talking about, Amigurumi is japanese for stuffed or knitted doll or something and usually it's small, super cute, crocheted stuffed figures.
So, just now I was googling around for patterns (for super beginners, lol) and found this on one of my favourite forums, http://www.craftster.org
Firefly amigurumi!
Aren't just fabulous?!

If you click on the OP's name you can see all the other great stuff she's made too, I think.
Need. to. make. amigurumis!
Oh, and find that handbag -_-

Just thought I'd share some pics from the past weeks.
As you know, I got my sewing machine ^^
This is the first project I did with it. Smilla got some colouring pencils for her birthday and they were cluttering up the drawers and floor in her room, so I tried to think somethig up that was easy to store away and to take with her to church or travels.
Behold the pencil holder :P
Didn't bother with ironing and stuff, lol. But it turned out well. The little animals are pockets for erasers and pencil sharpeners

Last week I was out on a job. Driving around northern Sweden. Took me all the way up to Kiruna in Lappland. Which, if you look it up, is way way north.
Drove past loads of reindeer on my way and some nice streams and the likes.

And for you few chosen ones that get to see my kids I'll post a pic of Smilla and the puppy in a locked entry ^^

A couple of weeks ago our oven died. So, we got a 'new' old one for free from someone who put an add in the local paper.
Today at lunch time the new, very old one suddenly started beeping like heck froze over. Some alarm went off completely randomly and there was no way to turn it off except pulling the plug. lol
And when I did pull the plug, the thing you put the plug into in the wall fell into pieces. xD
So, yeah, what can I make for dinner that doesn't actually require any cooking with heat?

Yeah, I'm THAT excited.
I got a new sewing machine! :D
The one that was on my wist even ^_^
(For you who don't have wists yet, or seen them. My, newly started and tiny is here http://www.wists.com/Sheeo )
You can even widget them </div>
Anyway. It's a shiny, brand new Pfaff 1132. I've done so much research to see what would fit me since I'm such a sew nub and this seems to be a good one.
I've so many projects line up, I don't know where to start.
Pillows are nice and easy, I guess :P

It's promised to be 100 mostly useless questions about yourself.
So, let's see if it is
1. Are you an innie or an outie? Innie!
2. Have you ever written a song? Yup.
3. Can you make change for a dollar right now? Eh, no. Don't actually use dollars in this country.

Irena Sendler is dead.
Small coverage in the newspapers here for a woman who has done so many courageous, selfless and heroic things.
Thousands of Jewish children during the Holocaust were saved by being smuggled out of the ghettos by Irina and her helpers/friends.
As more and more of the actual eyewitnesses leave this earth may we remember to never stop telling about the Holocaust. We can't forget.
Let us never forget Rwanda, Cambodia...
The horrible work of Stalin, Pinochet, Saddam Hussein, Tito, Gowon.
The ongoing genocide in North Korea and where ever it's allowed to keep happening.
Don't let us ever start thinking it can't happen again. Or that it couldn't happen here, in our so cultured West.
Rest in peace, Irena Sendler.
Bless you for saving those children and the generations that are allowed to live because of that.
